Scholarships and Bursaries

REGISTER NOW: Scholarships & Bursaries 2019

As part of our commitment to nurturing the talents of individual students, St Hilda’s School offers scholarships and bursaries each year to students entering Years 7 to 11. Scholarships and Bursaries provide part remission of tuition fees or boarding fees.

Recipients are expected to commit to the life and values of the school, demonstrate active leadership and contribute fully to the academic and co-curricular programs.


The 2019 Scholarship Test will be conducted 23 February 2018. In order to be eligible, you must:

  1. Register via edutestedutest-logo
  2. Submit supporting documentation (please find details below).
  3. If you are not a current student or already enrolled at St Hilda’s School, please submit an Application for Enrolment. You may do so via our Online Application or by downloading our Application for Enrolment Form.

The Edutest registration fee is $80. Late registration will incur a fee of $230. If you wish to organise to sit the test at a remote venue (other than at St Hilda’s) please contact immediately upon completing your registration.

Registration closes Friday 16 February 2018. Late fee submission will be charged from the 17-19 February 2018.

Successful applicants must be available Thursday 15 March or Friday 16 March 2018 for interview with the Principal.

Supporting Documentation:

Please provide two sets of photocopies of the following documents in support of your Scholarship Application prior to Monday 19 February 2018.

  • Copies of Semester 1 and 2, 2017 School Reports
  • Most recent NAPLAN results

Excellence Scholarship candidates (external candidates only) must also provide:

  • a Curriculum Vitae of achievements and awards demonstrating excellence in their field of endeavour over 2016-17.

Music Scholarship candidates (external candidates only) must also provide:

  • a Curriculum Vitae of the candidate’s musical involvement and achievements over the past two years including the instrument/s played, level achieved, their teacher/s, and musical participation (eg. bands, ensembles, choirs)
  • Photocopies of achievements/awards (eg. Music Exam results, Eisteddfod Prizes etc).

Music Auditions will be held Friday 23 February from 3.45pm – 6pm. The time of your audition will be emailed to you separately. Please confirm this time by return email. If a mutually convenient time isn’t available then a recorded audition may be possible.

Academic Scholarship

Academic scholarships are available for students entering Years 7 to 11 who demonstrate academic excellence in their school record and in the scholarship test.

Sporting Excellence Scholarship

Excellence in Sport is recognized by this scholarship.  The student must be able to demonstrate a history of excellence in sport and sustained academic endeavor.  These scholarships are available for students entering Years 7, 8, 9 or 10.

Music Scholarship

Music students of any instrumental or vocal study entering Years 7, 8, 9 or 10 are welcome to apply for a St Hilda’s School Music Scholarship. The successful candidate will be expected to continue her musical tuition and studies for the duration of the scholarship and contribute to the musical life of the school. AMEB Grade 3 or higher is the minimum performance standard required.

OGA Bursary

St Hilda’s Old Girls’ Association will offer a scholarship for the daughter or granddaughter of an OGA member entering as a new student in Years 7 to 11. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence in their school record and scholarship testing.


Boarding Scholarship and Bursary – Years 6 to Year 11

Girls wanting to experience boarding and St Hilda’s Character and Leadership Development opportunities and who can demonstrate academic excellence in scholarship testing, are encouraged to apply for a Boarding Bursary.
