The primary aim of St Hilda's Women's Auxiliary is to provide a social contact for all mothers within our School community.
Women's Auxiliary meetings are held monthly and we are joined by Head of Community Relations, Mrs Cecilia Kirby to inform us of any developments or changes within the academic or administrative arenas. Parent coordinators from the Supporters of the Creative Arts, Rowers Supporters Group, the Old Girls' Association, St Hilda's Aquatics and other School groups also attend. It is an opportunity for mothers to meet a number of staff, to find out what is happening in the School, to discuss any issues and establish friendships with mothers from other class groups.
During the year we coordinate a number of events, some of which generate finance to be used for facilities that may not be provided through the general School budget.
Principal activities include the Welcome Morning Tea, the Trivia Night, the Mother/Daughter Function and the School Fete. We also provide assistance to the other Support Groups at their events.
Women's Auxiliary is open to all mothers and we would be delighted to have as many mothers as possible join our numbers.
HATS OFF TO WOMEN'S AUXILIARY
A gathering of glamorous mothers and grandmothers crowded into the beautiful garden terrace of the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort for St Hilda's second Hats and High Tea event on Wednesday 21 May.
Organised by the Women's Auxiliary, the event was supported by mothers dressed in stunning outfits matched with wonderful hats of all shapes and sizes.
A highlight of the morning was the fashion parade featuring Charlie Brown's latest winter and evening collection.
A terrific line-up of raffle prizes was organised by the Women's Auxiliary including a new book entitled A Way with Words written by St Hilda's mother, Mrs Leonie Featherstone.
MOTHER AND DAUGHTER BRUNCH
Some 240 guests were dressed to impress at the annual St Hilda’s Mother/Daughter Brunch which was held at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast on 10 May.
The Year 12 Seniors entertained the audience with their talents and antics during a fashion parade previewing the winter 2008 collection by Charlie Brown.
Guest speaker was Mrs Anne Crawley who presented a light-hearted chat on 'the importance of motherhood'. Mrs Crawley is the wife of Head of School, Mr Peter Crawley.
The Mother/Daughter Brunch was hosted by the Women’s Auxiliary which raises funds for various school projects.
