Campus Profile
St Hilda’s campus is located on the Gold Coast, Australia’s sixth largest city. The picturesque campus is within walking distance of the Southport central business district and lies adjacent to the Southport medical precinct.

The School has occupied much of this site since the early 1900s and today the campus, totalling 14 hectares, is bounded by High, Cougal, Whitby and Spencer Streets.

The Junior School’s Preparatory Centre, the most recent development of teaching facilities, opened in 2006. It is home to some 220 girls from Pre-Preparatory to Year 1. This innovative centre features ‘smart’ technology classrooms and cutting edge learning environments including interactive play areas.

The Junior School also comprises the Junior Art precinct, Caedmon Centre, Junior Library and the historic Bourne, Fittock and June Bailey buildings that were named after two past Principals and a former student.

St Hilda’s Chapel and the James Administration building, which face Cougal Street, separate the Junior School from the Middle and Senior Schools.

Girls from Years 7 to 9 enjoy the vibrancy of the Middle School which features modern classrooms and covered walkways through tropical gardens. This part of the campus merges with the Senior Library, the Reeves building, the Science and Technology hub plus the Visual Arts centre, which are shared by the Middle and Senior Schools. The Performing Arts and Music precincts occupy the historic Assembly Hall and a ground floor wing of the Whitby building.

The Boarding School occupies historic and modern buildings, reflecting the increase in the number of boarders from 56 girls in 1914 to 150 today. Two shady courtyards, netball and tennis courts, Scholars’ Gate and the historic Visitors’ Reception and Central Hall are located at this end of the campus.

Completing this prestigious campus is the Sport precinct comprising the Del Mellefont oval, a 50m Olympic swimming pool and modern gymnasium.
