Payment of Fees Tuition and Boarding Fees are charged by the term. There are four terms per year. Semester or yearly payment is also acceptable. Multiple years fees are also accepted. Please note that the payment of ALL school fees is required by the due date at the commencement of each term. Where additional costs are incurred by the school as a result of late payment of fees, or where agreed arrangements are not maintained, these costs will be charged to account. NO student will be allowed to commence a new term whilst all or part of the previous term’s fees remain unpaid unless special arrangements apply in writing and are maintained. One term’s notice of removal of a student must be given in writing to the Principal otherwise a term’s fees will be charged in lieu. Additional fees not included in Tuition and Boarding Fees are outlined in Other Fees 2009. Registration Fee All applications for entry to the school must be accompanied by a $110 ( includes GST ) registration fee. This fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee a place in the School. Acceptance Fee Every acceptance of a place in the school must be accompanied by an acceptance fee of $800. This fee is non-refundable. Tuition Fees

These items will be charged where applicable at the end of each term and will be due for payment with tuition fees on the due date. Expenditure incurred by boarders such as personal items, telephone, medical, travel and some excursion expenses will be charged to boarders petty cash or to the account at the end of each term. A boarders petty cash advance of $100 per term is charged to the account. Refer to Other Fees 2009 for further information. Sibling Discount The School Council has approved a discount of 15% on tuition fees for the third and subsequent student from one family attending the School simultaneously. Where a family has boys at TSS and girls at St Hilda’s, the schools have agreed that the 15% discount program applies for the third and subsequent child. Please contact the Business Manager in relation to sibling discount. Voluntary Building Fund A voluntary building fund contribution of $500 per family applies and is charged at $125 per term. This contribution is tax deductible. Student Accident Insurance The School pays the premium for student insurance through Jardine Lloyd Thompson Pty Ltd, Brisbane. The 2009 brochure setting out items covered will be made available soon. Enrolled students are covered for the full year . Claims for the 2008 year must be lodged with the Insurer no later than 31 January 2009. Ambulance Cover Residents of Queensland are covered for Ambulance Services by levy contribution through Energex. It is recommended that non-residents of Queensland (including overseas students) should make arrangements for Ambulance Cover. Goods and Services Tax GST was introduced 1/7/2000. The supply of educational courses is GST free and this includes excursions or field trips, course materials but only if directly related to the curriculum and excludes any food component. Goods sold, leased or hired to students are not GST free. Student accommodation is GST free. GST applies to the boarding food component.
