St Hilda’s School is owned by the Diocese of Brisbane and the School Council is appointed by the Archbishop in Council. The major functions of the School Council are the appointment of the School Principal, the fixing of the annual budget and the fixing of school policy. The Principal, in the role of Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the School. All staff are responsible for carrying out their duties.

In performing their duties, all members of staff are expected to:

St Hilda’s School’s Tutorial Academy further supports the academic needs of the students of the School. The Academy forms an integral section of the School, which is committed to excellence in the education of girls and to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for children and young people.

Applications are invited from tutors seeking casual employment:

  • Under-graduates
  • Graduates
  • Teachers holding registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.

The Academy operates on the School’s campus on Monday to Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00pm. It is open to students from Years 7-12.

At this stage tutors in the following subjects are encouraged to apply:

English, Mathematics, Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) , Accounting, Economics, History and Languages (French, Japanese)

The successful applicants must hold, or be eligible to apply for, a Suitability Card, or relevant exemption, be able to support the Anglican ethos of the St Hilda’s School and be willing to give permission for the School to submit their names for screening with the Anglican Church’s Professional Standards Register.
