St Hilda’s has a strong record of sporting achievement which has produced distinguished sportswomen and a spirited sense of competition at all levels. The School provides high standards of equipment and coaching in Sport and Physical Education and guides the girls in positive approaches to health, diet and fitness as well as fair play, commitment and teamwork.
The comprehensive facilities include: Gymnasium, Fitness Centre with weights, walking, cycling and rowing equipment, Indoor courts for basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton, 50m Olympic, heated, swimming pool, Del Mellefont oval, Tennis courts, Netball courts These facilities are used for Health and Physical Education programs which are compulsory from Pre-Preparatory to Year 10.
St Hilda’s gymnastics program has produced elite gymnasts who strive for Olympic selection. Junior School girls are introduced to artistic and rhythmic gymnastics as part of the curriculum while co-curricular programs allow students to develop their interests in these sports. Rowing training is held on the Nerang River and quads compete at regattas held in various locations including the Hinze Dam and Brisbane River.
The School is a respected member of the Andrews Cup (Years 3 to 7) and the Queensland Girls’ Secondary Schools Sports Association (Years 8 to 12) competitions. The fixtures contest athletics, swimming, cross country, volleyball, basketball, netball, tennis, touch football, soccer, badminton, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, softball and hockey. Within the School there is a popular Inter-House competition which centres on athletics, swimming and cross country carnivals.
These events encourage team spirit, friendly rivalry and broad participation. St Hilda’s Aquatics invites membership from girls and boys. The club offers talented swimming coaches and training support and hosts competitions to build a caring and competitive environment for all members.

Inter-House sports offer girls competition in Athletics (Term 2), Cross Country (Term 2) and Swimming (Term 1). Teams for QGSSSA and Andrews Cup competitions are selected following Inter-House competitions.

QGSSSA
Queensland Girls' Secondary Schools Sports Association has 10 members and offers competition for girls from Years 8 to 12. They are St Hilda's School, Brisbane Girls Grammar School, Brisbane State High School, Clayfield College, Ipswich Girl's Grammar School, Moreton Bay College, Somerville House, St Aidan's Anglican Girls School, St Margaret's Anglican Girls School and St Peters Lutheran College. The QGSSSA was formed in 1908 and St Hilda's School became a member in 1911.
Girls compete in the following sports: Artistic Gymnastics, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Cross-Country, Hockey, Netball, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Touch and Volleyball.

The Andrews Cup has eight members and offers competition for girls from Years 3 to 7. They are St Hilda's School, Clayfield College, Moreton Bay College, St Aidan's Anglican Girls School, St Margaret's Anglican Girls School, The Glennie, Somerville House, Toowoomba Preparatory School, played in Years 5 to 7
CLUB SPORTS
St Hilda's School offers students from Years 3 to 12 a number of Club sports which are held after school and occasionally at weekends. These sports include Aquatics (open to girls and boys of all ages), Dancing, Golf, Junior Touch, Karate and Yoga.
