This time last year we were just heading into lockdown. After nearly a year of disruption to training, our Athena athletes have this term enjoyed the opportunity to get back into competition. They have shown great resilience, persistence, and flexibility over the last 12 months and their hard work has led to some great success in recent competitions for which they should all be very proud.
SWIMMING SUCCESS
Our Athena swimmers are beginning to see the fruits of their labour with some outstanding results in Regional events leading to qualifications to State Schools and National Age Championships.
Congratulations to the following girls who have qualified for the State Schools Swimming Championships which is being held this week: Lili Baumann, Ava Brickley, Tylah Crabtree, Georgia Lea’aetoa, Sienna Lea’aetoa, Tribeca Liu, Sara McCarthy and Holly Warn.
Special mention to Lili Baumann who earned a National Age Time in the 200m Freestyle in the recent Regional Titles.
We congratulate the following girls who have qualified for the National Age Championships being held in April at Chandler: Lili Baumann, Cyra Bender, Ava Brickely, Tylah Crabtree, Georgia Lea’aetoa, Isabelle Lee and Lucinda MacLeod.
Special mention to Tylah Crabtree, Lucinda McLeod and Holly Warn who have qualified to attend the Australian Open Olympic Trials in June.
We wish all our swimmers the best of luck in upcoming competitions.
STATE DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sascha Noort and Lily Cathcart competed at the recent Queensland State Diving Championships with some excellent results. Congratulations to both girls and we wish them all the best at Nationals in April.
SURF LIFESAVING YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS
Cyra Bender competed in the Queensland State Surf Lifesaving Youth Championships recently and we congratulate her on her excellent results:
STATE ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Our Athena Athletes performed very well in their recent State Titles with the following excellent results:

GYMNASTICS REGIONALS
Last weekend Grace O’Reilly, Madison Frankling and Jessica Cleverly competed at the South-east Queensland Regional Titles in Brisbane with excellent results see them qualify for the Queensland State Titles to be held this weekend. Best of luck girls!
EQUESTRIAN SUCCESS
Congratulations to Josephine Hermann on placing 1st on one round and overall 6th representing St Hilda’s School in the Glennie Showing Jumping Inter-School Competition.
