NATIONAL SCHOOLS SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to the following girls who represented Queensland at the recent National School Swimming Championships and achieved some excellent results:

  • Holly Warn (Year 4): 2nd in 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle, 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay; 3rd in 4 x 50m Medley Relay
  • Georgie Lea’Aetoa (Year 6): 2nd in 50m Free, 3rd in 50m Back, 5th in 100m Freestyle and Backstroke and 1st in mixed medley relay, medley relay and freestyle relay
  • Tyler-Marie Ransby (Year 12): 8th in 50m Freestyle
  • Georgie Roper (Year 9): 10th in 50m Breaststroke

NATIONAL SCHOOLS DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

In July, Athena students Sasha Noort (Year 9) and Lily Cathcart (Year 7) competed in the National Schools Diving Championships held in Melbourne. They achieved fantastic results:

  • Sasha Noort: 3rd in 15 years Combined Springboard Event
  • Lily Cathcart: 9th in 15 years Combined Springboard Event

NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to Holly Warn (Year 4) on qualifying for the Australian Cross Country Championships. We wish Holly all the best for her preparation for this event.

REGIONAL ATHLETICS

At the recent Regional Athletics meet, the following girls competed. We congratulate them on their participation and results:

  • Nyah Bollinger (Year 10) jumped a new PB of 1.62m in High Jump
  • Sierra Llewellyn (Year 8) placed 1st 13 years 400m
  • Dior Scholz (Year 7) placed 1st triple jump, 2nd long jump and 100m and 3rd 200m

Congratulations to both Dior and Sierra who have qualified for State Titles.
