ATHENA PROGRAM 2020

St Hilda’s School is committed to providing support for girls who are pursuing their dreams in elite sport, cultural endeavours or innovative programs. We work with families to offer flexibility and support to students (Years 4 – 12) whilst ensuring that they remain connected to their education and the St Hilda’s School community throughout their schooling years.

The Athena Program offers:

  • Consultation with parents/guardians to assess your daughter’s unique schooling needs
  • Personalised learning plans developed to make schooling sustainable
  • Additional pastoral care and support to students
  • Ongoing collaboration and flexibility for families to ensure curriculum delivery and schooling commitments are balanced and accessible

Applications for the Athena Program 2020 are now open. Students and parents wishing to apply are encouraged to read the Selection Criteria prior to submitting the Application Form and supporting documentation. Applications are to be submitted to lcleverly@sthildas.qld.edu.au or delivered to Visitors’ Reception, Attention: Lisa Cleverly.

QUEENSLAND JUNIOR TRACK CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Ava Robbins (Year 4) is a new member of the Athena Program in 2020. Ava is a track cyclist who competes with the Gold Coast Cycling Club. Recently, Ava competed in the Junior Track Cycling State Championships at the Anna Meares Velodrome in Brisbane where she earned three Gold Medals – in the 200m, 500m time trial and the Scratch Race for Under 11 year old girls. In the 500m time trial, Ava also broke the record which had been held for six years. It seems that cycling talent runs in the family, as Ava’s mum Jacqui also broke a record in the Masters Division of the same competition. Congratulations to both Ava and Jacqui!

EQUESTRIAN NATIONAL TITLES

Congratulations to Paige Sinnamon (and her horse, Calton Park!) who placed 2nd in the Equestrian Australia Show Horse Nationals in Melbourne in December.
