St Hilda’s School is committed to providing support for girls who are pursuing dreams of elite sport, cultural endeavours or innovative programs. We work with families to offer flexibility and support to students (Years 4 – 12) whilst ensuring that they remain connected to their education and the St Hilda’s School community throughout their schooling years.

Athena Offers:

  • Consultation with parents/carers to assess your daughter’s unique schooling needs
  • Personalised learning plans developed to make schooling sustainable
  • Additional pastoral care and support
  • Ongoing collaboration and flexibility for families, to ensure curriculum delivery and schooling commitments are balanced and accessible

Applications for the Athena Program 2021 are now open. Students and parents wishing to apply are encouraged to read the Selection Criteria prior to submitting the Application Form, including supporting documentation. Applications can be emailed to or submitted to Visitors’ Reception.


The Queensland Swimming State Championships were held in December at Chandler and we congratulate all athletes who qualified for the event. A special mention to the following girls on their outstanding results:

  • Sara McCarthy (Year 7) – 6th 50m Butterfly, 10th 50m Backstroke
  • Georgia Lea’aetoa (Year 8) – 8th 50m Backstroke
  • Cyra Bender (Year 10) – 6th 50m Backstroke, 6th 50m Breaststroke
  • Tylah Crabtree (Year 10) – 4th 50m Backstroke, 4th 50m Breastroke, 6th 200m Breaststroke, 7th 100m Breaststroke, 8th 200m Backstroke
  • Lucinda Macleod (Year 10) – 4th 400m Freestyle, 7th 200m Freestyle
  • Ava Brickley (Year 11) – 3rd 200m Backstroke, 8th 100m Backstroke
