AUSTRALIAN SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING TEAM

Athena student Kiera Gazzard (Year 12) is a member of the Australian National Synchronised Swimming Team.  Last term Kiera spent time overseas competing in events in Canada, Japan and Korea. Recently the Australian Team defeated New Zealand in the FINA Swimming World Championships which means that Australia will now be able to compete a team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Prospective members of this team are now required to trial for the Olympic Team and we wish Kiera all the best as she prepares for this trial in a few months time.

SPORT NUTRITIONIST VISIT

Eating right for sports training is one of the most important things a young athlete can do to ensure they perform to their best. Recently sports nutritionists from Eat SMART met with our Athena students to discuss nutrition strategies for sports.
