Anglicare Southern Queensland is opening a new home-away-from-homelessness: one that will not only deliver additional crisis beds, but one that will help more women break the cycle of homelessness as it will be part of Brisbane’s first, truly comprehensive Homelessness Services Hub for women. The 24-room facility is located in a lovely leafy part of Toowong in Brisbane. St Hilda’s will be taking on decorating and furnishing one of the rooms. We would like to thank Brandt Ward and the Coffee Club girls for agreeing to donate all 2015 funds to this worthy cause.
We have already spoken with a designer who will work with the Coffee Club girls in selecting all that is needed to decorate and furnish the room. There will be a prize for the best room once all rooms are furnished, similar to the Block. Celebrity judges will score each team’s room for its style, comfort and atmosphere. Virginia Bishop, an internationally recognised interior designer, will be working with Anglicare to brief the teams in detail and offer shopping advice. This is a great opportunity for our girls to actually be part of a team that does the interior designing and decorating. The School’s name will be placed on the door of the room.
