Teacher of Religious Education & Studies of Religion



Permanent Full Time




We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Teacher of Religious Education and Studies of Religion (ATAR), to join our community in Term 1 2024. The successful candidate should possess an excellent knowledge of the current directions in the teaching of the subject area, have a strong academic background and a thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum. Experience in teaching in an all- girls’ environment is an advantage, but not essential. Our RE syllabus is designed to implement the Anglican Schools Commission Shared Syllabus “encouraging the development of religious knowledge, and to embolden students to explore the application of this knowledge to their individual lives” (ASC, 2021)




Selection Criteria



Required Skills and Abilities

  • A committed and enthusiastic teacher of Religious Education and Studies of Religion (ATAR)
  • Ability to engage students from Year 7-12 in the critical examination of religion, philosophy, and ethics
  • Demonstrated previous experience as a Teacher of Studies of Religion - This elective QCAA course is an extremely popular and growing subject for students entering Year 11 and 12 at our School

The successful applicant must hold Queensland College of Teachers registration and be willing to have their name submitted to the Anglican Church’s Professional Standards Register.
