St Hilda’s School is owned by the Diocese of Brisbane and the School Council is appointed by the Archbishop in Council. The major functions of the School Council are the appointment of the School Principal, the fixing of the annual budget and the fixing of school policy. The Principal, in the role of Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the School. All staff are responsible for carrying out their duties.

In performing their duties, all members of staff are expected to:

St Hilda’s School offers an exciting opportunity for an innovative leader to be appointed to the position of Head of Junior School.

St Hilda’s School is one of Australia’s leading P-12 Anglican Day and Boarding Schools for girls located on the Gold Coast of Queensland. With an enviable reputation of excellence in girls’ education and multi-million dollar world class facilities, the School has a long history of outstanding academic achievement based on strong Anglican Christian values. The successful applicant will lead a team of outstanding leaders in order to develop the academic programs, pastoral care and co-curricular offerings of the Junior School, as well as supporting and fostering the Anglican ethos of the School. He/she will lead staff in contemporary educational practice and work in partnership with parents and the wider school community.

It is expected the Head of Junior School has a thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum and changes being introduced by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority. Post-graduate university qualifications are an advantage; a Masters qualification highly regarded. He/she must be committed to promoting the aspirational learning opportunities for young women.

The successful applicant must hold or be eligible for Queensland College of Teachers registration and be willing to have his/her name submitted to the Anglican Church’s Professional Standards Register.
