So You Think You Can Dance and Sing?

It was great to see the whole School singing and dancing their way through Period 5 last Friday in the culminating performance of the So You Think You Can Dance and Sing? house program which has kicked off the School Year. Click here to view a highlights reel of the performances.

Congratulations to all the performers on their team effort but, in particular, the leaders of each group who choreographed and rehearsed the unique singing and dancing talents of each dance troupe, choir and instrumental group. There was a lot of joy in the Sports Centre, particularly from Karragaroo, who swept the pool with both the singing and dancing awards.

Rehearsal with TSS Big Band

Straight after singing and dancing their way through the afternoon, the St Hilda’s Big Band set off to TSS to rehearse with the TSS Big Band for their upcoming joint performance on Fete Day at the start of next term. This marks at least the 4th year of this combined rehearsal/performance event and the girls and boys are showing increasing confidence every year. Thanks to Mr Antony Zambolt (St Hilda’s) and Mr Mitch Buckley (TSS) for their efforts in making this collaboration possible.

This Week

  • The 1st Twilight Concert of 2019 got underway on Tuesday evening in the Langford Theatre featuring Years 4-6 Choir, Junior Strings and Junior Concert Band and a few soloists already ready to show their developing musical skills.
  • Senior Choir in their first performance of the year, also contributed to the P-12 Ash Wednesday Service with the processional song Yo Puedo – a Spanish/English work which references believing in yourself and overcoming fears.
