What have our musicians been doing in the last month?

  • The first Twilight Concert of 2021 got underway on Tuesday evening in Langford Theatre, featuring spirited performances from the Years 4-6 Choir, Junior Strings and Junior Concert Band and 15 soloists (from Yr 2-10) who were already prepared to showcase their developing musical skills.
  • Other first performances for the year have included the 60-voice strong Senior Choir contributing to the Years 7-12 Ash Wednesday Service with two songs: We Will Rise Up Together – an inspirational song referencing the hopes and wishes of our youth and Morning Star, Evening Star which originates from local Yugambeh tradition.
  • Years 3-7 and the Year 9 Music class were excited to view a performance by Kaboom Percussion – two percussionists who presented some great rhythmic grooves on a variety of innovative instruments including the ‘Plastic Bottle Keyboard’ and the ‘Thong-a-phone’. Our girls were inspired to create music out of anything.  If you would like to see an example of what you missed out on – check out this link:

Coming Up:

  • Play Out 2021 is on this weekend – Friday 5 and Saturday 6 March. Our string and band musicians will have the opportunity to rehearse, work with a guest conductor and present a culminating performance for all interested parents at 12.30pm on the Saturday in Langford Theatre. Seats are limited and may be booked through All welcome.
