Stand Up! Stand Out!

Hoping to see lots of the School community at the 2022 Gala Music Concert at Annand Theatre, The Southport School, this coming Sunday 24 July. All St Hilda’s music ensembles from Prep to Year 12 will be showcased presenting some of our most favourite music, ranging in style from classical to pop, rock and music theatre.

Evening Stars Twilight Concert – 19 July The Chapel

Congratulations to all our performers who presented their musical talents at the Evening Stars Twilight on Tuesday 19 July in the Chapel. Many thanks to those staff members and over 70 parents and friends who came along to form the appreciative audience.

State Honours Ensemble Program for Middle School Session 2 – Griffith University Young Conservatorium

From 15-17 July, more of our Middle School musicians were honoured to be chosen to participate in the second session of the State Honours Ensemble Program for Middle School students, run through Queensland Conservatorium’s Open Conservatorium in Brisbane. They participated in workshops and a final concert alongside hundreds other musicians, showcasing the breadth and depth of artistic talent being nurtured by teachers, parents and schools throughout Queensland. Congratulations to:

  • Georgia Thomasson (tenor saxophone) from Year 8
  • Erin Leinster (voice) from Year 9

Redlands Eisteddfod Success

Congratulations to Flora Yang (Year 10) on her recent successes at the Redlands Eisteddfod where she was awarded:

  • 3rd place in the Open Age String Concerto;
  • 3rd place in the Strings Diploma Level solo; and
  • Highly Commended in the Open Age String Championship.

Gold Coast Eisteddfod 2022 – Performance Dates for St Hilda’s Ensembles

The 40th Gold Coast Eisteddfod begins in earnest on 26 July for thousands of students in solo and ensemble performances across the Gold Coast. Before parents start receiving emails advising of Gold Coast Eisteddfod excursion invitations through Parent Lounge, please find below a list of ensembles and their approximate performance times to assist you with your advance planning.
