Enthusiastic Performances Start the Term
St Hilda’s musicians have been out in force during the first weeks of Term 2.
A big thank you to the combined talents of our Middle and Senior School musicians and staff whose contribution to the ANZAC Day Service on the first Friday of term greatly assisted in commemorating our national day of remembrance.
The service featured a stunning choral piece sung by Senza Ragazzi and ceremonial music played by the Middle School & Senior Concert Bands including Saskia Billson’s (Year 11) beautiful rendition of The Last Post.
“Come From Away” Excursion
Finally, after being delayed by the Brisbane lockdown prior to the Easter Holidays, our enthusiastic group of music and drama students and parents got to see the stunning production of “Come From away” currently performing at QPAC in Brisbane. The group was blown away by this musical which presents the many highs and lows experienced in the small town of Gander in Newfoundland, Canada, following the events of 9/11 . Through music and precision performances by a very talented cast, the excitement in the theatre and amongst the group was palpable.
Middle/Senior School Musical – Matilda – The Musical
Tickets are selling fast to our two performances of Matilda – The Musical on 14-15 May in The Annand Theatre at The Southport School.
Last week, Matilda herself performed “Naughty” for the Junior School at Assembly and this week the Middle/Senior School got to see also two other chorus pieces of the show – “The Smell of Rebellion” and “Revolting Children”.
Tickets are on sale directly via TryBooking https://www.trybooking.com/BQCJT
We encourage you to bring your family along to share in a really wonderful, joyful and delightful show.
