It’s time to warm up your creativity these winter school holidays with NIDA at St Hilda’s School! NIDA is bringing some of their most popular short courses to the Gold Coast from 26 June–1 July. Courses are available for Grades 3–12 and places fill quickly, so don’t miss out!

  • NIDA Bites for Grades 3–6, 7–10 and 11–12NIDA logo
Be challenged by a smorgasbord of several drama skills in one day. Be introduced to voice, movement, improvisation and acting skills in a taste test of what NIDA has to offer.
  • Musical Theatre Boot Camp for Grades 3–6
Work with a NIDA music theatre expert to create a short song and story presentation for stage! This is a great way to introduce yourself to the magic of music theatre and find out just what it takes to become a music theatre star! Present your song and story presentation to family and friends at the end of the course
  • Drama School for Grades 3–6 and 7–10
A comprehensive course for committed young people. Develop performance skills including improvisation, voice and movement, devising, acting and rehearsing scenes. Perform scenes at the end of the week for family and friends.
  • NIDA Acting 101 for Grades 11–12
Sharpen your performance skills through a comprehensive workshop with a theatre practitioner drawing on NIDA acting techniques. Develop key principles of actor training, and extend into characterisation and scenework. Interpret, rehearse and present some of the most exciting writing produced for young people today.
  • NIDA Heroes, Villains and Spies: Screen Acting for Grades 3-6
Get ready for three days of outrageously fun on-screen antics as you act out scenes from famous hero, villain and spy adventures. Stop moving trains, intercept international secrets and save the world – all from the safety of the rehearsal room! Develop skills in acting and characterisation as you rehearse and film scenes to camera. Present live and on-screen scenes at the end of the course for family and friends.

Enrolments for the program are currently open and are accessible via the NIDA Open Program Website
