Meet Lisa Cleverly
Lisa Cleverly holds a Bachelor of Education from Deakin University , Diploma of Teaching from Victoria College (majoring in Science and Mathematics) and a Graduate Certificate in Theology from Charles Sturt University.
Her teaching career began in Victoria where she taught in the public sector before being appointed to a position at Shelford Anglican Girls’ School, in Victoria in 1994. Lisa took on a variety of teaching roles at this school including teaching Physical Education, co-ordinating the Gymnastics program and inter-school sports program. In 1995, she moved to St Hilda’s School, Gold Coast. With an interest in sport and qualifications in the coaching of Gymnastics she taught Physical Education from Prep to Year 10.
The following year, Lisa moved into the classroom and has taught a range of year levels across the Junior School, which included a Mathematics specialist teaching role in the upper primary years. Throughout her time at St Hilda’s School Lisa has also held positions of Junior School Sports Co-ordinator and Head of Administration/Junior School. In these roles Lisa was responsible for the co-ordination of inter-house and inter-school sport, Andrews Cup and the day-to-day organisation of the Junior School as well as guiding and mentoring the Junior School Student Representative Council.
In 2012, Lisa was appointed Head of Junior School. During her time as Head of Junior School Lisa has overseen the implementation of the iPad program and the Australian Curriculum in the Junior School. She has initiated a number of innovative programs including Enrichment Programs, Chess, Robotics, Bounce Back, the Young Leaders Program and the integral pastoral care of students. With Lisa’s passion for educating girls, she is continuing to strive in developing further innovative pedagogy within the Junior School.
