Years 10 and 12 have returned to timetabled classes after finishing their respective Exam Blocks and QCS practice. This week the girls will have been receiving their results and gained valuable feedback on assessment pieces. Please encourage a conversation with your daughter regarding grades and the advice she received from teachers. This feedback is constructive and beneficial for the girls as they set their goals for the remainder of the year.

The Year 10s have been completing their Career pathway Plans in class this term, to assist them in choosing subjects for Year 11. Girls and their parents will have an interview with a senior staff member during the first week of Term 3 to discuss subjects for Years 11 & 12. Parents are reminded to log on trybooking in the link provided below to book an interview time. https://www.trybooking.com/BCNGW

We have the Talking Futures afternoon coming up on Monday 17 June.  I encourage all Year 10 to 12 students and parents to come along.  The afternoon will include a variety of opportunities to help the girls plan their pathway through school and into tertiary education.  The program includes guest speakers from QTAC on the new ATAR system and time to speak with Heads of Faculty to gain insight into senior subject offerings. The afternoon begins at 3.30pm and concludes at 6.45pm.  I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Saturday 15 June is an important event in the Year 12 social calendar.  This year’s Formal is being held at Bond University and is set to be a wonderful celebration.  Mrs Emma Pinkerton and Miss Lauren Hall have been working hard to ensure the night is a success.  Walk-ins begin from 5.30pm and the school community is welcome to attend.  With 60m of red carpet to walk, there will be ample photo opportunities and room for viewing the girls and their dates.

This term we have seen an improvement in uniform standards in the Senior School.  We appreciate the girls who have taken the time to lengthen their tunics and ensure no extra jewelry is worn to school. As I mentioned to the girls at Senior School Assembly, our next area of improvement is the uniform worn at sports trainings. The girls should be dressed in School sports uniform rather than other branded sportswear. Thank you for your ongoing support of School expectations.

Please be reminded that Semester 1 Reports will be available on Parent Lounge, during the first week of the holidays.  Due to the introduction of continuous reporting, the report format will look different from previous years.  For each subject, your daughter will be given a grade and effort level. Parents are encouraged to print a copy for their records.

I hope that your family has an enjoyable, relaxing and safe holiday.
