Sports news Term 4!
*During the Term 3 holidays, Dayna Whiteley-Hall was fortunate to be selected to attend the Inter-State Challenge as part of the QGSSSA Tennis Team. The event was held in Bowral, NSW and hosted 5 teams to play a round robin event for the National Championships. NSW won the event with some very talented players, closely followed by Victoria in 2nd and QLD in 3rd, just one game further behind. Well done, Dayna.
*Congratulations to Paige Sinnamon who qualified for the Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships in December, after an amazing 3rd place finish at the State Titles.
*Congratulations to Casey Wynne on being selected as part of the 2020 U18 Gold Coast Suns Academy Squad for AFL. The selection comes after a stand-out performance at the Queensland AFL Championships earlier this year.
*Congratulations to Hannah Collins who has qualified in Triple Jump & Hurdles for the Australian Junior Championships.
*Congratulations to Eva Pinkerton, Chloee Atkinson, Erin Michael, Stella Waller & Petra Bosma on their selection into the QAS Emerging Talent Program for Volleyball!
*Well done to Olivia Wright and Alexis Cunington who competed at the Sail Brisbane Regatta against 53 other racers from Brisbane and the Gold Coast Schools.
State Athletics was held in Cairns Friday 18 – Monday 21 October and we had some great results from our St Hilda’s girls who competed as part of the South Coast team.
These are all amazing efforts and you girls should be so proud of your results

Year 7 Learn to Row
In Week 7 of this term our Year 7 students had the opportunity to visit the TSS boat sheds, learn all about our rowing program which commences from Year 8, meet some of the coaches and also pick up an oar and try their hand in a rowing quad. This is a wonderful experience for our students as they get a firsthand taste of the commitment and drive it takes to be part of the St Hilda’s Rowing Community.
The St Hilda’s Sport team loves to be kept up to date with our girls’ achievements across a wide range of sports. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any sporting news that we can recognise and celebrate!
