Overview
As part of St Hilda's commitment to nurturing the talents of individual students, and to align ourselves with the Queensland Government's initiative to identify and develop local athletes that can deliver glory at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, St Hilda's School is offering a limited number of Swimming Scholarships from 2024 and beyond.
The purpose of the program is to provide talented and aspiring swimmers with the correct support and training, so they may achieve at a high level, whilst providing them with a first-class education.
The Scholarship provides part remission of tuition fees, for the successful recipient.
Eligibility
Applicants must have the drive to succeed and appetite to achieve in the areas of academic, co-curricular and the life of the school.
The Swimming Scholarships are open to new and existing students in select years, and the successful applicants will be required to act as ambassadors for St Hilda’s School and St Hilda’s Aquatics.
It is expected that the St Hilda’s Swimming Scholarship Recipients will maintain a high level of achievement and will consistently contribute and display commitment to St Hilda’s School life.
This encompasses regular attendance at training sessions and participating in relevant events as well as consistently representing self, School and St Hilda’s Aquatics Club with honour and pride.
The Scholarship is open to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents of Australia and International Students.
Supporting Documentation
Please submit the following supporting documentation to enrolments@sthildas.qld.edu.au in addition to the online enrolment application form.
- Daughter’s last two (2) school reports (translated into English and certified as a true and correct copy if necessary)
- Daughter’s most recent NAPLAN results
- A hand-written letter by your daughter to the St Hilda’s School Principal and Head Swimming Coach introducing herself and indicating how she will contribute positively to the St Hilda’s School community
- Copy of all relevant Swimming results and/or achievements
- One relevant reference, one page in length from a teacher, coach or relevant professional. Referees should not be a member of the applicant’s family
How to Apply
Complete the EduTest Scholarship Registration Application by the scholarship application closing date. 2025 applications are open and will close February 16 2024.
If you are not a current St Hilda's School Student or already enrolled, please complete the St Hilda’s School Enrolment Application.
Submit supporting documentation to enrolments@sthildas.qld.edu.au. Supporting documentation must be submitted in a single PDF format.
Sit the Scholarship testing and Music Auditions (if applicable). Results from the Scholarship testing provide comparable results for new and current students. Historically, scholarship interviews have been offered to students who achieve at an exemplary level in the Edutest. The invitation to attend a scholarship interview does not guarantee a scholarship offer. Candidates will be contacted by April with the outcome of their scholarship application.
