At St Hilda’s School, the Years 7–9 curriculum is designed to lay a strong academic and personal foundation for young women entering their secondary education journey. Aligned with the Australian Curriculum (Version 9.0) and supported by our St Hilda’s Learning Framework, this phase focuses on developing students’ capacity for learning across all curriculum areas while nurturing cognitive, metacognitive, social, emotional, and ethical growth.

YEARS 9


In Year 9 all students study the core subjects of:

  • Religious Education

They also choose three (3) electives for both Semester 1 and Semester 2 from at least three categories. The elective subjects provide students with opportunities to extend their curiosity and explore beyond their immediate capabilities and interests. Year 9 is a time for each student to broaden their perspectives whilst developing their capacity for learning.
