St Hilda's Aquatics

St Hilda’s Aquatics offers year-round programs catering for levels from Learn to Swim through to International competition. Focus is placed on the development of correct technique for long term athletic development.

All programs are skill- and ability-based and, as such, each swimmer trains at a level of equivalent age, dedication, fitness and competitive desire.

Welcome: Jon Bell, Head Swim Coach

We are thrilled to announce that Australian Paralympic Swim Coach, Jon Bell, has been appointed as St Hilda’s Aquatics’ Head Swim Coach.

Jon’s expertise is set to elevate our athletes’ capabilities, having coached Australia’s Paralympic Swim Team at the recent 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Jon brings a wealth of knowledge across aquatics coaching, programming, and management, with a remarkable reputation for coaching athletes onto the world stage.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Ken Malcolm for his dedication to the success of St Hilda’s Aquatics over the last four years, as we wish him all the best in his next venture.

We are excited to welcome Jon’s immediate expertise into our community.

Welcome: Daniel Sainsbury, Assistant Head Swim Coach

Learn to Swim

  • Maximum of 4 swimmers per class
  • Qualified, experienced instructors
  • Group Lessons open to boys and girls ages 3+
  • Private Lessons open to boys and girls ages 2+

Learn to Swim lessons are available before and after school during term time, with Holiday Intensives Programs available in between. All training takes place in our heated pool.

Squad Training

St Hilda’s Aquatics train in an outdoor, nine-lane 50m pool which is heated year round.

Our Aquatics Centre caters for a broad range of abilities, from athletes from the Australian Dolphin teams, National Open and Age champions, to new swimmers just taking the plunge as part of our Learn to Swim program. St Hilda’s Aquatics is open to all – you do not have to be a St Hilda’s student to train at St Hilda’s Aquatics. We train all year round with squads made up of both male and female athletes.
