St Hilda's School takes immense pride in announcing the outstanding outcomes of the recent Assessment and Rating Visit for our esteemed Pre-Preparatory program. Conducted by the Department of Education, the program not only passed but surpassed expectations, receiving an exceeding rating in all seven Quality Areas as outlined by the National Quality Standard.
Under the guidance of Pre-Prep Director, Lisa Cleverly, the success of this evaluation underscores the dedication of our educators at St Hilda's School. The assessment included a detailed examination of our Quality Improvement Plan, insightful interviews, and a meticulous review of various documents, including policies, planning, observations, and reflections.
The National Quality Framework, introduced to raise the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia, applies to various services, including long day care, family day care, outside school hours care, Pre-Prep, and kindergarten services. It encompasses improved child to educator ratios, enhanced educator qualification requirements, improved learning programs, and a new, higher National Quality Standard.
All services are assessed and rated against the seven areas of the National Quality Standard, ensuring excellence in:

- Children’s health and safety
- Physical environment
- Staffing arrangements
- Relationships with children
- Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
- Governance and leadership
The Department of Education's thorough visit also included the observation of interactions between educators and children, families, and an assessment of our procedural practices.
