When learning difficulties are limiting a girl’s ability to achieve her best, Learning Enhancement staff work with parents and teachers to identify the exact nature of the issue so that support can be put in place. Teachers may be able to modify their strategies or additional resources are provided for the girl. Students with significant and ongoing difficulties may, at the discretion of the Head of Senior School and the Director of Curriculum, join a Learning Enhancement class in Year 10 or receive individual support. Students for whom English is not the first language and who require assistance are provided tutorial support and modified programs so they might integrate as quickly as possible into their new learning environment. Girls are given the opportunity to work on improving their spoken and written English, while the ESL teacher provides them with support to engage with the mainstream curriculum.
